I almost exclusively use Debian Gnu/Linux and the Debian Aolserver packages made by Francesco Paolo Lovergine <frankie AT debian.org>

Also most of my Aolserver installations feature OpenAcs.

My goal with Aolserver: Aolserver should be (at least) as easy to install and use for the average system administrator as Apache, (incomplete) list of features:

  • setup utility
  • easy configuration
  • basic authentication against several authentication sources
  • DAV
  • PHP (at least as CGI)
  • PostgreSQL (and mySQL?) preconfigured
